How to use YouTube to get more visitors to your Website
Jun
Have you been considering using videos to attract more visitors to your Website?
Maybe you’re already putting videos on YouTube but it feels like your videos are getting lost in the crowd.
I’ve used YouTube videos to help sell two vehicles that I listed on eBay. In those cases, the people viewing my eBay listings were watching an embedded YouTube video (‘embedded’ means that you use the code YouTube gives you to insert the video on your own web-page or in your own blog post, rather than sending them to YouTube via a link).
I didn’t imagine that people could find the video of the vehicle on YouTube first, then go to the eBay listing, though I did include a link to the eBay listing in the video description on the YouTube page.
But it has happened – I haven’t bothered taking those videos down, and months after we sold the vehicles, we’re still getting the occasional phone call or email about them. So, imagine my complete surprise just now when I went to check, out of pure curiosity, how many views those two videos have had…
The first video has had 1,374 views, and the other one has had 1,358 views.
I’m completely dumbstruck. I wasn’t even trying.
Now I’m kicking myself. What if those were videos related to my Professional Website Makeovers?
Just before I checked those videos on YouTube, I watched a video on how to get more visitors to your website by putting videos on YouTube. Imagine if I’d actually used these tips on my videos? I’m really going to have to seriously consider doing some videos now!
Here is the video (and an example of an ‘embedded’ video to boot)…
